With summer right around the corner, I have vacation on my mind. And with vacation comes packing for your travels.

Keeping up with your skincare ritual while traveling tends to be inconvenient and tedious, making it the first task to slip right off your list, or get forgotten all-together.

But with an interrupted routine, comes skincare nightmares. From pimples to flaky patches, we all know that skipping our skincare routine can come with a host of problems. Plan ahead, keep your skin on-tract and your vacation stress-free.

Here's how I pack my beauty bag in advanced with travel friendly skincare essentials, to avoid last-minute stress and interrupted routines.

A long time ago, I learned to always keep a travel bag of organic skincare essentials ready to go. That way I can toss it in my bag and not have last minute worries about whether I remembered my moisturizer or if I needed to refill my cleanser.

Before you begin packing, separate your skincare from your makeup. Keeping these products divided in two separate bags, helps you stay more organized, lowering the likelihood of you forgetting anything. Plus, it's important for cleanliness-sake. You don't want your pigmented foundation leaking into your skincare bottles!

Once your products are separated, now is a good time to look through your travel friendly skincare and make sure everything is still fresh.

Toss out any old products that you don't regularly use and are simply taking up space.

Check your bottles expiration dates. They have expiration dates for a reason. When it comes to skincare, ingredients don't just go bad, they also lose their potency if they're left sitting for too long. This is especially true for natural skincare products. (Savor Beauty products have a shelf life of 18-24 months.) 

Choose a beauty-bag that best fits your needs. It should be lightweight, convenient, and roomy enough to hold all of your travel friendly skincare, without being squished.

Once everything is set up, it's time to start packing your skincare routine.

This may seem like a silly reminder, but make sure everything is full! You don't want to get to your destination and find out that despite thoughtful packing, you don't have enough face cream to last you through the trip!

Replace or refresh your travel size bottles. If you're starting from scratch, grab minis of your clean beauty essentials. Start from step 0 to step 5 to make sure you don't miss anything. Feel free to take only what you need if you would like to lighten your load.

If you already have your minis and just need a refill, carefully replenish your travel friendly bottles with your full size skincare. Make sure to wipe off the bottles and close tightly when you're done, to avoid mess or spilling.

Don't forget to take your most important skincare step with you! SPF should be used everyday, but it's especially important if your travels include lots of sun. Grab a TSA-friendly size (less than 3.5 ounces) sunscreen and toss it into your beauty bag as your final step!
