There’s something magical about Copenhagen in the winter...
Recently, my love Ali had a United Nations mission in this charming city, and I accompanied him. While there, I worked remotely in candlelit cafes, ate (too many) delicious baked goods, and wandered through the holiday markets.
Here’s what I took away from the beauty of Copenhagen—and how you can bring a luxurious sense of their hygge glow into your daily routine.

The Mohair Sweater Approach to Winter Skincare
I discovered the magic of mohair sweaters in Copenhagen—light as a cloud yet incredibly warm, offering the perfect protection against the cold and wind. I picked one up (with a matching hat!) from the Christmas market and wore it daily.
One of the vendors told me it’s very “Danish” to wear a cotton or, even better, a silk shirt underneath a mohair sweater for maximum warmth and protection from the wind.
This concept reminded me of the Korean beauty layering technique: starting with lightweight hydration and finishing with a thicker, more protective cream.
My layering winter skincare ritual:
- Start with Hyaluronic Acid Serum to infuse skin with weightless, deep hydration.
- Follow with Truffle Face Cream, hand-whipped in New York, to boost moisture and protect your skin barrier.
Just like a silk shirt and mohair sweater, these products work together to layer your skin with breathable, light-as-air protection—keeping it healthy, radiant, and resilient all winter long.
The Beauty of Pause
Savor Beauty provides skincare amenities for the luxurious Aire Ancient Baths' spa facilities in NYC and Chicago. I couldn't resist a visit to their Carlsberg location in Copenhagen.
I love meeting women from around the world and connecting over beauty and wellness, so it was especially meaningful to sit down with Olly, Aire Copenhagen’s Spa Director.
We discussed how the harsh Copenhagen weather can wreak havoc on the skin, and how Korean beauty Glass Skin routines are a saving grace for protecting and preserving moisture. She then led Ali and me to our Couples Experience.
This historic space offers saltwater pools, hypnotic music, and the kind of stillness that makes time feel suspended. Our couples' massage was other-worldly, and we floated out feeling completely restored.
You can bring the beauty of pause into your own home by cocooning your skin with a Calm Moisture Mask, lighting a Soy Candle, and carving out intentional time to slow down and glow up.
Create Your Own Luxury of Time
As I gain "wisdom years", I have come to realize that carving out time for yourself is the ultimate luxury.
In Copenhagen, I found these moments in the quiet mornings before the day began. Stretching, planning, and reflecting were grounding rituals that helped me to be more creative and productive.
You don’t have to be in Denmark to create this space for yourself. Our “I Create Balance” Planner is the perfect tool to carve out intentional moments in your day—whether it’s journaling with your morning coffee or mapping out the week's meetings and to-dos.
“[This planner] will help you weed out all the unnecessary chaos and zero in on what’s most important.”
How to Bring the Copenhagen Glow Home
Even if you’re not waking up in Copenhagen, here's how you can channel its hygge magic.
- Start a Skincare Ritual: Layer your products like you’d layer a shirt and a sweater—serum, mask, cream.
- Create Candlelit Moments: Light a candle, grab a soft blanket, and brew your favorite tea.
- Plan Your Pause: Use your planner to reflect, dream, and prioritize what matters most.
From the healing waters of Aire Ancient Baths to the hygge-filled candlelit cafes, I've brought a slower rhythm back to New York City—and I hope this has inspired you, too.
Here’s to finding your Copenhagen glow, wherever you are.
